Light Rale
Our next beer is Light Rale which scored a BBB score of 68. With this score it has tied with two other beers in 20th place, so we need you to vote and separate these great beers.
Unfortunately we couldn't find a picture for our latest beer so here's a picture of some great British mountains...!

Guinness
From The Generous Britain, Loughborough.
A big name today in our next beer to join the list...Guinness! Unsurprisingly, being such a popular stout, it managed to crack the top ten with a score of 79. This score placed it in joint 4th place and needs some public rating to really distinguish it from the other beers!

This is an obvious one...
Beer is composed of (mostly) water, a starch, a yeast and a flavouring agent. The starch, such as malted barley, is turned into alcohol, the yeast which does this fermentation is often the brewers own culture and the typical flavouring agent is hops.

Cains Brewery Protest
38 workers made redundant by the brewery stage a protest over their treatment. Apparently they were forced to close due to a drop in orders from supermarkets and "deeply regret" the job losses. However, this hasn't stopped them in going ahead with plans to spend £50m on a 'Brewery Village' to turn the site into a tourist attraction. The irony is that this development could create up to 800 jobs! What do you think about these plans? Maybe these ex-employees could be given a place in the 'Village'?

Great Yarmouth Lacons Brewery revives historic ales
A 'sleeping yeast' has been woken after more than 50 years in order to make these historic ales in Great Yarmouth. The brewery closed down in 1968 after having been there for over 200 years! Isle of Man new alcohol measurements scrapped
Currently draught beer must be sold in pints, half pints or the lesser known one-third measurement.
They had planned on introducing a quater and two-third pint size after the liquor trade asked for the changes, however, the OFT (Office for Fair Trading) found that people were "unanimously opposed to the changes".
In the Isle of Man they also measure spirits in quarters of a gill, as they do in Japan, unlike the UK's 25 or 35ml size. Personally I like that they are keeping the old, traditional measurements, what do you think?
