Bottle Kicking 2013

Bottle Kicking is a local Leicestershire tradition taking place on Easter Monday between to villages, Hallaton and Medbourne, whereby they essentially have a massive scrum to try and get the keg of beer (bottle) across their respective score line. The tradition is over 200 years old and has only been cancelled once in that time.

 Last year a three day real ale festival began in the Isle of Man town, and capital, Douglas and this year has proven to be even more popular. In it's first year it attracted over 1000 drinkers and proved so popular that they even ran out of beer!

From The Little John Inn, Hathersage, Derbyshire

Just what is needed after a long walk in the snow and wind on the Derbyshire Dales, Gale Pale Ale doesn't disappoint. It enters the board with a BBB score of 64 placing 13th, unfortunately missing out on a place in the top 10 board but certainly worth a try!
